Despite yet another challenging year navigating COVID-19, it seems not even a new variant and reimposed restrictions can get in the way of our Investment Team's mission and You Give We Give.

At year end 2021, our investment managers had not only protected our clients' capital (a huge feat in itself), but they'd gone one step further and actually made them a profit, with some portfolios returning over 17% for the year. We are therefore absolutely delighted to have had the opportunity to once again donate over £35,000 to our You Give We Give (YGWG) clients' chosen charities, taking the total raised to date to an incredible £188,355.

One of the fantastic benefits of YGWG is the freedom of choice. Clients can choose to donate to any registered charity, and it is because of that they we have donated to a total of 32 charities to date. From smaller charities such as 500 miles, Cairngorm Mountain Rescue and Ferne Animal Sanctuary, to larger charities such as Alzheimer's Research UK, Prostate Cancer UK and Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and to international charities such as the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

For those of you not familiar with YGWG, it remains a completely unique charitable giving initiative available exclusively to TAM GIA and ISA clients. It provides investors with a proven alternative to traditional fundraising in that they can choose to donate up to 20% from their annual portfolio gain to a charity entirely of their choice, and TAM will match that with an equal percentage from our annual fee.

Advisers can also choose to boost the donation and participate alongside their client and TAM, by donating an equal percentage from their annual fee. Further, if in any year the client does not make a profit then they will not make a donation, but TAM will still donate to the client's chosen charity which provides them with a long-term sustainable income stream.
